Here's another handful of writing competitions I found while researching short story competitions on Sunday.
Cinnamon Press runs three competitions twice a year with deadlines on the 30th of June and the 30th of November:
Poetry Collection Award: The winner will have his collection of poems (up to 10 of no more than 40 lines) published and will receive £100. They also publish an anthology of the best poems that have been submitted.
Short Story Award: The winner will receive £100 and the winning story along with the stories of up to ten runners up will be published in the winners' anthology. Short stories should be between 2,000 and 4,000 words long.
Novel/Novella Writing Award: The winner will have her/his novel/novella published by Cinnamon Press and receive £400. Four runners up will receive a critique of their submissions. You can submit the first 10,000 words of your novel or novella.
If you want to submit to one of the Cinnamon Press Competitions, you can't have a collection of poems or short stories or a novel/novella published before if you want to enter in these categories. Publication of short stories or poems in anthologies does not exclude you from these competitions, however.
